Abstract
In modern urban infrastructure management, geographic information systems (GIS) play an increasingly vital role in optimizing maintenance, monitoring, and planning for critical utilities such as water systems. Consultants from Abonmarche have worked with the Town of Hebron Indiana on a GIS-based work order management systema. It leverages ArcGIS Online apps, offering a robust and efficient approach to managing the maintenance of water networks. This system enhances operations by integrating real-time data collection, spatial analysis, and workflow automation, providing a comprehensive solution for tasks such as valve exercising, hydrant flow testing, leak detection, and mainline repair or replacement. Most importantly, this system is a cost effective means to bringing true work order management to small communities that cannot afford or have the resources for a larger system.
